I have reached the fifth stage. Of grief, that is. Acceptance.

The Dems had a chance to pick a young, vigorous person to replace a doddering octogenarian. It looks like we’re not going to do it. Even knowing we’re well behind in the polls. Unless Trump dies, he will be the next president.

The Dems have a moral obligation to protect regular people from the crazies, and we are going to fail. This one is really sad, too. We have good options, but we refuse to try.

As for me, I have to decide to close out my career working for Trump. I’m not sure I can stand it, but I’m also not sure where I could go.

I have four months to figure it out.

I was scrolling through my YouTube feed yesterday and did see one video saying that the Democrats were going to stay with Biden (TYT program headline iirc). I didn't see any others like and not wanting to believe it was true so didn't click on it.

I think it is the height of irresponsibility not only to
throw the election which is bad enough but to suggest to the country and the world that Biden is now or could ever be a credible President of the United States with his blatant lack of cognitive functioning and bizarre behavior.

Why not just hang a big sign at the convention saying-- "Democrats. We're in the business of trying to install puppets. Vote for us."

This situation is frustrating and beyond stupid.

Biden's ghost writer's letter lied when it said the nominating process was democratic. It wasn't.

Biden showed his true when the ABC reporter asked him how he would feel if he runs, looses, looses both houses, and he said he would feel that he had done his best. Dementia isn't his only problem. Apparently he's a narcissist.

And I'll remind everyone of my prediction the convention will be the focus of intensive protest against Biden being arguably as responsible for the Gaza genocide as Netanyahu.

He will be remembered for it.

There is no perspective from which he personally, the country, and the world would not be better off if he quit now.

Cindy, you say we're headed for a Trump presidency at this rate unless he dies, to which I'll add, as has been mentioned above, of course, Biden, also, could die.

The only legitimate reason I can think of is because other contenders declined. Whitmer already declined. If Shapiro and Bershear also declined, you're not left with much.

Doesn't matter. It's over.

'It's over before it even began.' comes to mind.

He was wandering as around the NATO summit looking lost.

He's going to do a lot more damage before we see the last of him.

Jake Sherman of Punchbowl, a very well-respected journalist, says that the chorus is getting louder.

quote:
A ton of activity in the capitol this am in regards to Joe Biden’s political future.

— new dem leadership meeting w Jeffries this am. Concerns at the top level of the caucus about Biden’s drag on frontliners.
— frontliners met w Jeffries this am.
— CBC lunching today at noon - regular gathering. They also met last night
— Pelosi’s morning Joe comments were like a bomb dropping. Jeffries said he wouldn’t comment until he spoke to Pelosi. Aguilar told us to ask Pelosi about her comments.

Concern is growing in the capitol. Lots of buzz that more members will come out against Biden today. No one we’ve spoken to seem satisfied with White House

Are you sure that reflects the latest?

The ennui for the Biden campaign is palpable - and as much as it affects voters, one has to wonder how the people funding the campaign feel. Why toss money at a campaign destined to lose? Better to keep the money on hand for next time when it may more productively be spent.

Last go round, Biden was campaigning based on 1) the fact Trump was hurting - at least partly due to the pandemic response, 2) Biden's smiling image standing next to Obama, and 3) the gazillion dollars spent by Bloomberg trashing Trump.

And with all that momentum, Biden just cleared the treetops to get elected. In 2016, Hillary looked much stronger and lost.

And the messaging - "like the way things are now - vote Biden" - "think things are tough - vote Trump."

I think it's game over.

I agreed with this initially, but now I don't.

If we really want "Trunp-no," IOW if we truly want to keep Trump out of the White House, we need to make sure the Dems have the strongest ticket possible.

It's becoming increasingly clear that's some combination that doesn't include Biden.

+1 Biden refused to be tested. He is seeing doctors.

I'm sorry if this has been posted but I heard on some news channel a Parkinson's specialist visited the White House eight times. I don't know if this is accurate.

He was asked by the Governor of Hawaii of all people (apparently a physician, disapprove of him more than I can say, but nevermind) about his health.

Biden said his health was fine, it was just his brain.

Whoa.

It’s true.

Press secretary acknowledged that neurologist visited White House but didn’t examine Biden. Today she said he saw Biden 3 times for annual physical. No word on what the other five were.

They haven’t said whether other visits pertained to Biden in other ways.

I’m getting tired of the cover up.
