Still at 98# but have been making a point of swimming laps when I take the kids to the pool. One lane is always set up and rarely used, most parents sit around chatting.

While I didn't gain or lose more this week, I did have a breakthrough. At my weekly allergist visit yesterday, I scored the highest I have ever scored on my flow meter breath test! Yippee!! Yes

Beelady - I used to do that when I took the kids to the pool. Super exercise - have you ever used those little hand paddles? They make you go extra fast, and give your arms an shoulders a kick*** workout. (you have to be careful when you first use them, you can strain things) I wish there was a decent pool close by us here.

I'm not nearly at the level where paddles would do me any good! Just moving is fine with me so far! Roll Eyes

I grew up on a lake with a beach my Dad built in the back yard, but my sister turned out to be the real swimmer...

jodi, look around...Our pool is the best kept secret! Been on the membership waiting list for only 3 years. It was built in the 70's by the neighbors in the area who bought up the land and started a nonprofit. Dirt cheap too when you figure membership for the family might send only one kid to camp.

Even better it is close to home, hard to do where I live! Smiler

Bought a weight-watcher's scale yesterday. The kind that measures in .2 increments. It weighs 1.2 pounds more than my other, but that's okay, the result is the same. My soup stock is really helping me not eat bad things during the day. When I get hungry, I get HUNGRY!!!! Off to walk.

Did 9 miles this morning on the bike, and a 45 minute walk tonight. Tomorrow, it's rodeo time with the young colts and the farrier. Yikes.

Oh yes - Rodeo time - fun, fun. Thank goodness for seasoned geldings! My farrier is wonderful! How much do you pay over there Jodi?

Almost to 93# according to my new scale!

Well, my #%&$*! scale told me I was 100 again today. I must be gaining muscle. Roll Eyes

Just went to the gym and did weights. Attempting to drag the husband out of bed to do an early morning bike ride.

Maybe you need a new scale? Going for a walk. Alex is coming this morning, but I have plenty of time. Jodi - try my soup.

I just put lots of sweet onions, leeks, a few carrots, fresh tomatoes, and any other kind of non-sugary veggie (NO potatoes) you have into a pot and let it cook until tender. I just use minimal water and only one small can of no-salt tomato sauce, so most of the flavor comes from the veggies. It's virtually no-cal, but keeps you going during the day if you get hungry. If you need it saltier, just add to the bowl you are eating. Always better to salt at the table then in your cooking.

Sounds yummy. Unfortunately, I am not hungry any more, having polished off at least 4 of the cookies baked for me by my neighbors wife (the one who is in the hospital with a broken hip). They were delicious. Frowner Big Grin

I did go on a good bike ride this morning however - 9 miles, and bumped my avg. MPH up to 14.1 I was doing just a little over 12, so I am getting faster up those hills.

I'm sure any extra calories I burned off were put right back on with the oatmeal raisin cookies! I have to mow the lawn this afternoon, and that will burn off a few more.

You are too funny! Loser - Loser! Alex is here tuning, voicing and regulating my piano. He is working miracles. I love oatmeal raisin too. My favorite. I did just eat about 10 cashews. Made my hubbie parse them out and not show me where the jar is.

Ok, so how are you guys doing? I've kicked it up a notch on the exercise, (going to both morning and evening on cardio) and got a MAJOR KICK IN THE PANTS in the eating department. Got an email yesterday that an old boyfriend is coming through town. Eeker Eeker Eeker Don't think I can drop twenty in the next two weeks, but at least it's some motivation to stay away from the cookies for awhile. Big Grin

Going to the gym to lift this morning, and then a bike ride with the hubster.

Well, according to my new scale - as of yesterday I was at 94.2. I feel puffy for some reason this morning, so I am not going to weigh in. I rode vigorously yesterday morning- my trail loop is about 15 miles and we did most of it at a fast trot, slow canter and very little walking. I know that counts for a lot of exercise. It is raining today, so I will have to hit the treadmill probably.

I'm doing pretty well in the food department. Yogurt for breakfast, my veggie soup the rest of the day and salads for dinner with some chicken thrown on top. I should surely lose on that!!!!! Oh yeah, and a weight watchers fudgecicle for dessert. My clothes are sure fitting different though. I don't feel like a piggy face anymore.

I read (heard?) something that suggested that you should only weigh yourself twice a week. Once on Friday - so you know how good or bad you can be over the weekend, and once on Monday so you can plan for the rest of the week. Sounds good to me.

Smiler Jodi (still at 99# which means I am not nearly as big a loser as teachum. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin)
