Grandest Canyon Concert
On September 18, 1979, after 20 years of imaging, Marden Abadi organized a team of forty people to help carry his one and a half ton rosewood grand piano to the rim of the Grand Canyon so that he could play selections from Debussy, Gershwin, Chopin, and of course Grofe’s “Grand Piano Suite” before several hundred people. And in that suit.

The realisation has been commisionned by the Office of Chopin Year 2010 Celebration. Can anyone read the piano brand?

I think it says "Belarus" which means 'white Russia'.

The David Rubenstein R-371 - 12 foot 2 inch Concert Grand Piano

David Rubinstein, a local artisan and woodworker, has brought forth his own take on how to build a piano...

His aim in construction of the case is to solidly isolate the soundboard with a heavily built but elegant looking case to avoid sound leakage into the case. With an 11 foot long lid he has chosen to split the lid and support it with two props and a bevel cut between the sections to keep them level, along the idea of an upright action split damper lift rail.
