These last few make me feel considerably less embarassed about only being able to play barefooted.

Yes, its really very clever isn't it, I only noticed this play on words when I zoomed in and looked closely at the picture.

Making a Piano is fun
The video was shot in Christchurch, but I wonder now if it has been flattened by the devastating earthquake or not - I live 15hrs drive time away, so OperaTenor, I am safe and so is my Imperial, but sadly cases like the CTV building bring the reality home, I believe there are 100 people lost in there...

We added rubber bands to every key so they actually worked. The lid is made from all the panels of the old upright.
See it in action in the final video:

As the title of Michael Parekowhai’s major new sculpture, The Horn of Africa is also a Steinway concert grand piano balancing on the nose of a seal. A metaphor for civilization and a pop-cultural totem of the New Zealand nation is being toyed with...

Silent Piano - - Can anyone here identify this piano sitting in the vaults of our City Museum?
Chances are there is an entire orchestra lurking in the museum’s storage areas. Alas, like us, many of those beautiful instruments are now too old or delicate to be played. I came all the way from England many years ago, only to find myself packed away and never played. Such a sad story…
