Bosendorfer Imperial At Night In My Room
View from my bed!

(On the Desk is the Rachmaninoff Prelude in Eb Major Op23 No6)

Listen to Ruth Slenczynska 'one time' Rachmaninoff 'pupil' play the Prelude and recall her time with Rachmaninoff where she played it for him as a child.

Doesn't your piano beckon you to come play when you are in bed?

LJC has met Ruth S, and has posts about her both here and over in the PW forum.

Haven't seen LJC here much. His piano must be beckoning him as well!

Indeed, fierce resistance is necessary, this is because after the night follows another day... But frequently, all resistance is ultimately hopeless:-)

I noticed that thread, this is what lead me to follow up on Ruth Slenczynska, very much to my delight, being a beyond-help Rachmaninoff lover, I obtained her DVD, a rare gem it is too.
I love his art songs and choral music:

The Situation of Magical Thinking

To some, John Lennon’s piano is sacred.

Magical thinking springs up everywhere. Some irrational beliefs (Santa Claus?) are passed on to us. But others we find on our own...

Last year John Lennon went on tour. He visited, among other locations, Oklahoma City, Waco, New Orleans, and Virginia Tech, spreading a message of peace and love at the sites of tragic events. You may not have recognized him, though, covered in scars and cigarette burns...

On this journey, Lennon assumed the form of a piano, specifically the one on which he composed Imagine. “It gives off his spirit, and what he believed in, and what he preached for many years,” says Caroline True, the tour director and a colleague of the Steinway’s current owner, singer George Michael.
