Cosmic vision for a piano
Erin Johnson plays a piano he painted for his senior art project at the Ringling School of Art and Design.
Months in the research, planning and design, it still took three all-nighters for Ringling College of Art and Design student Erin Johnson to finish his senior thesis project: an art-case baby grand piano covered from keyboard to legs with images ranging from medieval to New Age.

The Beckwith piano, about 100 years old, is detailed with 18-karat gold leaf and painted with a combination of acrylics, colored pencil and pen-and-ink. A bare-breasted angel heralds the coming cosmic events.

Sweet Patooti
Couldn't resist this repost, this time showing the wider surrounding, don't you think this is one of the most fab beauty ideas - the artist must have a mind like a gemstone...

Brief video of someone playing it!

I really enjoyed her art and gardens and of course the piano enlarged to see the details. Josie must be quite a character - take a peek at her as well!

Loved the ballerina table and pool!

B&B rather expensive. 350 for one night.

Piano must be cement as other scultures are.

So glad you posted Brian!

It's a reflection of a piano? (Lid pointing the wrong direction?)

Confused

OperaTenor! The trick is that it is a real piano and there is no illusion of any kind, so it is indeed a real piano with no mirrors! But talking about reflections - someone obviously did reflect on the matter and decided to make the world conform to their way of seeing things. It is a wonderful world surely that someone had the gumption to put things right!
Pic: Christopher Seed with two pianos - his left-handed piano and a conventional instrument. His design for left-handers is based on a mirror-image of the fortepiano. Backstory: http://lefthandedpiano.co.uk/about.html
