Dré Wapenaar's Tents: Artful Environments Cloaked In Canvas

Dré Wapenaar is a Rotterdam-based artist whose primary medium is tents - environments designed to shape encounters, whether between individuals or for large groups. Dre's portfolio includes a tent for reading newspapers, a birthing tent, "Deathbivouac," the "Pavilion of Loneliness," "Tree Tents" and "4GPP"

- a pavilion for the performance of Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt's "Concerto for Four Grand Pianos."

"in the 1950s, it became known to us as the "Cole Porter Piano."

Looks like they could be singing a few xmas carols...
Backstory: http://www.americancathedral.org/en/ourcath/tour.html

Mystery surrounds this extraordinary piano, a Steinway, serial number 121776, one of only a few pianos in the world in imitation of the Louis XIV style of construction and decoration.

"This is the piano at night. Our white natvity is in the middle with the stacking plate centerpiece on the left and a jar full of ornies and miniature nativity on the right."

The only thing I can think of is that every one is eating their own Appassionata; hopefully when their indigestion is settled many people will post many ingenious and lovely piano photos...

Regarding that most interesting instrument you posted, I saw this fascinating comment:

"but I’m especially interested to hear the Glass Armonica with its reputation to drive people insane (which may well be due to lead content in the original instruments) – heres a video of Thomas Bloch playing it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XPfoFZYso8

I assume that if this comment was true at all, then the basis might be the lead glass and wetting your fingers in ones mouth?

Also I was interested to understand what, if any, piano-like connection there might be. I read that the piano keyboard pattern is replicated with the black/white keys and also that there is such a thing as a Keyboard Armonica as well - maybe someone has that photo to post then...
