Well as with most things people have become tribal. Seriously Daniel, those two youtube clips were utter crap. Corbyn is thoughtful, concerned, but clueless, reminding me of Chamberlain back in 1939, desperately wanting world peace but with no real idea what his enemy is like. So, Hamas are hiding with the hostages underground. They have fuel, wont give it to their civilians. They block roads to attempt to stop their civilians moving out, keeping their human shield. They come out to fire rockets indescriminately at Israeli cities. Shall we ask Hamas for a ceasefire, sit on our hands and wait to see if they release another two hostages in a week or so? Thinking, hoping, it might be my grandmother/daughter. What would Hamas fighters would do with ceasefire time, help doctors heal in hospitals or plant more landmines to kill? These vicious young war criminals have no rules, no real education or morals, they just want to kill. There is really only one option for Israel.

I will not support genocide. It is not a matter of sympathy. It is a matter of right and wrong.

Absolutely Daniel. I watch Al Jazeera and they, on banner headlines, say 'Israel is targeting innocents'. So Israel know where the war criminals are, know where the hostages are, but are targeting civilians? Who, with any thought or objective logic believes this crap? It's propaganda spread by Qatar, a state that knowingly give refuge to war criminal terrorists. Hamas are obviously firing rockets at everyone in Israeli cities, women, children, with the stated aim of wiping out the Jewish race. Israel say they are targeting those Hamas war criminals, and Israel are obviously not carpet bombing in any genocidal way or the Palestinian casualties after two weeks would be hundreds of thousands. It is a matter of right & wrong. I do not support the genocidal aims of Hamas, Hezbollah or Iran, and I say we, the Liberal democratic West must fully support Israel, the only Liberal democratic state in the region. I have great sympathy for the children innocents of Gaza. They should have already been moved to the Egyptian border for safety. Meanwhile until the hostages are freed or accounted for, Israel can take the gloves off and use gauntlets.

USS Eisenhower task force near the naval base at Rota, Spain. Should be entering the Mediterranean shortly. Roughly four days to Suez. They can support operations near Iran from the eastern Med, but are supposedly heading into the Arabian Sea to be much closer.

Hey, I have a great idea. Let’s cross the border into Israel and maim and butcher a thousand people, and kidnap a couple hundred. Then let’s go hide in tunnels and, when Israel decides to fight back (just like we knew they would), we’ll call for a cease fire because civilians are being hurt. The civilians should repudiate and turn over the Hamas butchers who started this.

They can't. That's the fundamental problem of the hostages' dilemma. Hamas isn't the Islamic version of the Christian Democrats in Germany. I think my fundamental views are well known here. I'm fine with Zionism as the national movement for a homeland, and I find left wing intellectual anti-zionism redolent of anti-semitism because among all the 19th century nationalisms it's the only one singled out for its supposed evilness. But I digress. Despite my strong pro-Israeli street cred, I have great sympathy for the civilian population of Gaza at this time, even the portion that might support Hamas. I sure hope the Israeli invasion, when it comes, comports with international law. That does NOT mean never firing on a school or mosque. If an ammo dump is inside a school, it's a fair target. If Hamas gunmen are firing at you from a civilian apartment complex, it's a fair target. It does mean risking your troops a bit more than if you simply level everything in your path.

You can bet that Hamas' tunnel network is quite dense under important civilian infrastructure, like hospitals.

I hear zero compassion or concern from her about what the elected government of the Palestinian people did--unprovoked--to innocent babies, children, families in Israel on Oct 7. Her diatribe is an abomination. If she cares so much about the Palestinian people, why not allow Palestinian refugees to have a homeland in Jordan? Israel is NOT occupying Palestinian land. Those living in Palestine before the creation of Israel were mostly Jordanian Arabs. There were also Christians and Jews--a significant number of Jews. The land was a British mandate, and before that was a part of the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire. Palestine Arabs did not have some kind of exclusive claim to what is now Israel--ever. There has never been a state called Palestine--it was an area of the Arab world. If the Arab nations surrounding Israel think the Palestinians are so oppressed and need a homeland, why not welcome them into their own countries? But they don't. Why not? Who needs terrorists like Hamas in their own borders? She has completely refused to acknowledge the role of Hamas, that their charter is to purge the world of Jews and wipe out Israel. They are not interested in the well being of their own people. They have been preventing them from leaving northern Gaza because the more Palestinian civilian casualties, the more outrage they can generate against Israel. If they gave a damn about their own people, they would have used the significant sums of money in aid they have received to build hospitals and schools and feed people, instead of building tunnels and rockets. They could have built a life in a country of their own and prospered, but they would rather kill off the Jews instead. The Palestinians were given Gaza in 2005 with zero conditions by Israel. They rewarded Israel by firing rockets at them. You can't coexist with people like that. If your next door neighbor wanted you dead and could not be reasoned with, what the hell would *you* do?

The Queen of Jordan talks in the past tense. Hamas are still attacking, last night firing rockets indescriminately into Jewish cities, and they still hold our civilians hostage. Nothing has changed since the 8th October. Hamas have continued to attack using their underground tunnels and living areas that only they use as refuge. They are under the full length of the Gaza strip. The tunnels link and can access hospitals, schools, mosques for refuge. India Today channel showed videos of this and said they are up to 80m deep. This is what the IDF are now tackling, the unseen war. Twenty two Arab states and none of them really control these Hamas war criminals. They finance and equip them, sit back and can only watch. Stop the continuing indescriminate bombing of Israeli cities, free all our hostages. Until then, the war continues.
