That picture reminds me of a story that a client told me.....

Before I was the tuner, she called her previous tech in a panic. Her daughter had just come home from college and brought her harp. They put them roughly in the configuration of the picture because they had some duets they were going to play. The reason for the call? Before they were practicing together, the mom was going over her part and realized that the dampers must not be working on the piano.... the sound just kept ringing on and on!

Of course when the tech came out, he found out that it was the HARP strings that were ringing in sympathetic vibration to the piano!

That story saved me once when I got a similar call about a single note that wouldn't damp. It turned out to be a little folk guitar-type instrument propped up in the corner under the piano... Smiler

I think this looks like a fun place to play!

Hey ron, that's an interesting story. Here's a question for you. My CW upright is too loud. It's sitting perpendicular to my open 1864 Steinway square grand. Is it possible that the second piano's soundboard is vibrating, making everything louder?
