Odd positioning of the piano. I wonder why the owner has it opening to the sliding glass door rather than into the room.

Not that I'd want this in my living room, but the beadwork is enough to make any Belly Dancer envious:

It really is beautiful artwork...the face, the decoration etc. Musta taken forever. Wonder if this artist has other pieces...can one backtrack where they found it and find other objects?

This is an interesting one my tuner who came by yesterday to tune (duh!) sent me. Here's what he had to say about it:

Here is that little Art Deco piano I was telling you about. The whole piano weighed maybe 150 pounds max. The sides were made of 1/4 inch plywood. It was maybe 8 inches from front to back at the bottom, less at the top. Notice the two pedals, with the pedal rods exposed. The cloth that covers the front is grille cloth. It was made in 1952 by __________.

Maybe art deco is too grandiose a term for it. Maybe fifties kitsch is closer to the truth. Think kidney shaped tables made of Formica! It didn't sound bad, though.

Anyone want to take a stab at guessing who made it? Its not an obscure make, nor is it "the usual suspects". I'll post the answer on Monday!

Here it is:

P.S. Don't bother trying to backtrack the image - its hosted on my own server under a meaningless name. Flower

I've always liked designs like this. I wonder how well the "sound ports" work.
