If you look at the thread, you will see lots of people discussing ideas And events. You will see one who posts links to agitprop videos and who cannot argue his way out of a proverbial paper bag. And when this is noted, he cries "ad hominem!"

You will see in the quote from me that you reposted an extended argument with evidence. That's the kind of thinking that seems quite beyond you.

You go off on a personal campaign to "talk" about me, in the third person, and, you make personal attacks, repeatedly.

Yes, each and every one of your personal attacks is an ad hominem fallacy.

And this list will persuade whom?

.

.

For those still keeping up, here is the current ground conflict map. Israel continues to punch into Khan Younis, presumably because much of the Hamas leadership is in, around, ... and under, that town.

I would not be at all surprised if Hamas decides to renew the "pause" it ended and dangle a few more hostages in exchange for another week to move the pieces around on their diminishing chess board.

Flooding/filling in the tunnels might be a good start. There should be plenty of fill dirt left over from when they were constructed.

Tunnels mean sewage ejector pumps. Disabling those might also be a good strategy. Ditto ventilation fans.

Brilliant! ThumbsUp

From what I have read, which admittedly isn’t much, fresh water is scarce in that area and seawater is plentiful. Well water is very scarce and the concerns over groundwater contamination don’t sound particularly compelling. I welcome arguments to the contrary.

Now about those sewage ejector pumps. The electricity to run them has to be coming from somewhere, and someone is paying the power bill. Ditto whatever they’re using for cooking, lighting, and hot water.

Time to cut it off.

The alternatives proposed, gas and explosives, are much more likely to kill the hostages. Dogs can be shot, drones disabled. I view modifying the environment in the tunnels to be the most humane tactic and the one most likely to be successful. I might add that dropping stink bombs down the air shafts - which are apparently easy to find - is another simple, non lethal way to get people out of there.

The bombs have to be stored there along with the trucks that move them around. Ruin them with water or make them impossible to access.

Some problems:

Flooding the tunnels may also permanently affect (ruin) underground water supplies in Gaza. War crime?

Shutting off power and other energy/food sources is contributing to the war crimes charges against the Israeli state. Yes, we've seen the clips of Hamas gunmen commandeering relief trucks, or at least some portion of them. Sigh ....

This is such a complex problem to manage, unless your simple mind is ideologically disposed to see Jews as the always and everywhere problem, or if all you want is "to give peace a chance" ... even if that likely leads to the dissolution of the Israeli state because of emigration as the state is demonstrated to have no capacity to protect its citizens from mass murder.

At some point the civilized world has to make clear that hiding among civilians is not a panacea for attacking us.

My naive hope is the current generation of Gazans will see what their fantasy of destroying Israel has brought them.

Ground water in Gaza already requires desalination and is now threatened by a collapsing sewer infrastructure.

Poll: 72% of Palestinians ...

.... approve of the Oct. 7th killings.
