Mrs Henry McSweeney's gift, 1959 - A nobleman's showpiece - a little something for Christmas, I imagine it in my lounge...
This ca.1840, 2.47m piano, made in the London branch of the Érard firm, features the double repetition action, felt-covered hammers, and a constructed metal frame.
The richly marquetried satinwood Louis XV–style case by George H. Blake is unsurpassed in elegance and iconographic complexity. It was commissioned by the second Lord Foley, baron of Kidder, minister for Witley Court, his residence in Herefordshire/Worcestershire.

A special photo that will temporarily make you forget how ridiculously annoying most people are.

Clearly Piano Keys should be cat biscuits...

Beau_sing_play and beau_on_piano
The pictures are rather big so link to them here, one of which Zorba posted back in 06 September 2005, titled "Cats rule, dogs drool!"

“Spiral Cloud” by Connie Beckley
In Spiral Cloud 1986, while a pianist played a theme and variations on a baby grand piano in an open field, surrounded by a tethered spiral of black helium balloons, she gradually released the balloons to form an evolving and rising spiral.

Cobb’s Bill-of-Fare - 1913; pp. 45-80
http://elfinspell.com/Cobb/FareMusic.html

“SHE TRIES TO TEAR ALL ITS FRONT TEETH OUT WITH HER BARE HANDS”

"She comes forward, stripped for battle, and 54 bows and peels off her gloves and fiddles with the piano-stool until she gets it adjusted to suit her, and then she sits down, prepared to render an immortal work composed by one of the old masters who was intoxicated at the time. "

For some reason, a piano stool isn't the first thing that comes to mind, despite the legs. "Stool", yes. "Piano Stool" nope!!

There have been several threads recently about white pianos both here and on PW. I ran across this one while looking for Lotus (flower) images for my next tattoo:
