Geesh that was a double whammy for you Mary Anna! At least the squeakiness was an easy fix. Sorry about the case damage.

I have a burn scar on my piano, the result of a Hanukkah candle tipping out of the menorah. It was repaired, but cracked again, in the shape of a fish. Is that Christian symbolism telling me something about my Hanukkah habits?!

I learned later about the trick of melting candle bottoms so they’d stay in the menorah. That’s how we roll these days, with the menorah on a metal plate, too.
