As long as we all make it clear that we are speculating, and not speaking from knowledge.

Oh, man. I disagree.

It is rare that anyone here is speaking from personal knowledge when we are talking about current events, politics, and many other things.

It's a discussion board -- there is no need for footnotes or disclaimers or citations about the basis for one's statements or opinions. I mean, come on.

So. If someone has inside information or personal knowledge, they can say so explicitly if they want. Otherwise, let's operate on the assumption that this is just a group of friends discussing things that are of interest.

Maybe this approach will cut down on pointless arguments about nonsense.

Sound good?

Right, except if you have a philosophical difference of opinion, then...

it might be the basis of the opinion you express.

Of course, there's always the ignore feature.

Sure. You don't have to be an "expert" to have an opinion.

Anyway, I think there is no disagreement here, actually.

If there is a legal basis to keep this woman out of the U.S., that should be done.

If there is not a legal basis to keep this woman out of the U.S., she should be held legally accountable for any crimes she has committed.

See how easy that was? And no one had to declare themselves an "expert."

Well, only one person asked for money to do legal research.

One supposes that, if a person would expect to get paid to do legal research, that person might imagine themself some kind of expert. After all, no one would pay someone to do legal research if they had no expertise with legal research, would they?

So I think someone implicitly did declare themself an expert. Of a sort.

See how easy and logical that was?
