It's recommended 65+, which is probably why your insurer won't cover it ... unless you have some condition(s) that warrant an exception. Talk to your physician.

Have gotten the pneumonia vaccines because of asthma.
It was not the latest one.

I got my first shingles vax before my insurance would pay for it. I had had shingles, and didn’t want to get it again.

Got the newer shingles vax when that became available, and it was covered by my insurance at that time.

I don’t let insurance coverage decide whether or not I’ll get something.
