It’s NYT so I can’t read it, but there are plenty of other outlets with the same story. AP, for example, where the NYT gets their news, is free.

Looks to me like a massive overestimation of the force of the storm. I suppose this is good but it does make me wonder just how useful this information is.

I wish I was in the lower desert to watch it all happen. I’ve always loved desert rainstorms.

Getting the vehicle stuck would not be so great.

I have been in Santa Fe when three inches of rain came down in a hour. The drainage system cannot handle it. The streets turned into surging fast-flowing rivers.

Never been out in the actual desert under a cloudburst.
