My damaged ear hurts. The pain is perceptible every day but very, very mild. I've decided it's a condition akin to neuropathy. This might even be the correct term. The eardrum is healthy. There's no infection. I believe it's nerve damage.

This is, of course, why they say the elderly have, "a lot of aches and pains." My body, at least, "remembers" a catalog of injuries going back decades. I hurt a lot, actually. The only thing that helps it is to be physically active. This possible sometimes and sometimes not so much. The reasons for this are varied and complicated. I'll save them for another time.

I need to buy ear plugs I like to wear. I tried the gummy kind but didn't like them.

I'd be grateful for any recommendations.

I also need a new pair of Grado headphones for my delicate ears. My old ones are about four years old and have a slight and constant distortion. They are mid range focused so there's no escaping it. The spectrum is wonderfully balanced. They're perfect for classical period and earlier and for Delta blues. They'll play anything. I suspect the anything category accelerated the distortion but nothing lasts forever. I have the base model. The wires are nothing special and are twisted beyond repair. The replacement wires have a synthetic fabric wrapping. I'd enjoy that. Mine were a gift but I know they were $79.99. It would be $99.99 to replace them. I wish I could buy them as a Christmas present for myself but it won't happen. My priority is to be warm this winter. Our central AC's heat doesn't work. We have space heaters. I have two I chose carefully and like a lot. But I could do with some more warm clothes and bedding.

As an aside, I found a loose diamond and fell in love with it. It wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but I think it's perfect.

Round, M VVS2, .30 ct, GIA report.

There's a part of me that wants to buy it as a Christmas present for myself.

It would probably be an unwise decision but still I don't know if I'm trying to talk myself into it or out of it. Lol.

I bought an 8" 925 silver 2 mm rope bracelet made in Italy. It's factory made but with precision and it has a lobster clasp. It was $15.77 on Amazon. I saw the same one for $40 on Etsy.

I'm getting a long chain (32"). It's the same quality as the bracelet. It's a ball chain and it's stainless steel. I have a ball chain now but the 22 inch length is physically annoying me. "A long chain" is a "thing" in jewelry. It's something I've wanted for a long time.

I've wandered far from the original subject of my post. Lol.

I'll mention one more heath matter. I'm going a full eye examination- I'll find out if I have any health problems, I'll get a precise prescription, and I'll get glasses.

It was too late in the day to call providers but I'm excited about it. I'll almost certainly call the list I have, choose one, and make an appointment tomorrow.

My readers aren't working well enough for me now and I can't wait to have glasses.
