Quote from the blog where I found this picture... "Piano Bike - Next time you are at a San Francisco Giants Game, make sure to look for this Piano Bike and ask for a free song. (well, make sure to tip him a dollar for the effort). If you’ve been to a few Giants games, you may have seen Gary riding or playing his wicked-cool contraption. He built it from hand, using an almost-worn out piano (which, fortunately, had no broken strings), and part of a cruiser."

It's the Beatles from their first tour in the U.S. I loved the perspective, too. Now that I've looked at it again, I notice that plate's unusual in that it has quite a bit of cast filligre at the curve. Ought to make it identifiable for type. I'd be curious what make it is.

We haven't seen this one for a long time. The "banana" piano - designed to keep the bridge a straight line: The hammer line? Well, that's another story!

Reminds me of a square-grand action... Also, no string overlap for the bass strings. I wonder how many were made?

Ah, the Baldwin school upright - the piano I cut my tuning teeth on. Built like a tank, still plentiful in many institions around here.
