Barbie had a piano, very much like that one. Anyone else remember it? I believe it's in JF's sisters' collection at his family home.

Okay, back to pianos. This is the last one I snapped at the Smithsonian, and darned if I can't remember what it was. Any takers?

PS: I think it was an Ibach, could that be right?

Nope, Christfori's didn't have lyres to the best of my knowledge. Regardless, this one was most likely made by Conrad Graf of Vienna, probably c. 1830.

(I found a virtually identical one in "Piano", by David Crombie. Pg 27, upper right hand corner. This one has flutes on the legs, Kathyk's does not.)

The poor guy who made it probably had to wear a necktie!

Ah, that's right. I was hoping that one could read the sign in the photo, but no such luck.

Anderson piano covers - they stay in place, you can lift the lid! (Ok, I only saw one at a convention...)
