Merriam-Webster weighs in on a grammer rule.

Any opinions here? Personally, I've never seen the sense of the rule.

Ending prepositions are not wrong, but they bother me aesthetically.

Unless I'm writing dialogue or conversational-sounding narration that's in first person or close third person, I'll reword the sentence before I use one.

There are no 'rules' in language, let alone ones promulgated by committees editing dictionaries and similar 'rule books.'

This article says as much.

From my super pedantic grammar nerd knothole: it’s a PRE-position. Clearly, the name says it goes BEFORE another word, so it canNOT be at the end of a sentence.
