wtgIt was vacant. But what was to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures, some of which might have been occupied?
They also said they were celebrating the chief's retirement.
I still think it was an opportunity they should have passed on.

NinaI agree the optics are bad. But I tend to trust that the firefighters really wouldn't have posed for a selfie had there been any danger of the fire spreading.

CHASMaybe they are very, very glad that the chief is retiring.
