Yes, this was one bad... really bad, wormy, moldy completely rotten... apple, but it's not a huge mystery why some citizens have come to mistrust police.

And, tying in to Steve's discussion of civil asset forfeiture, I'm surprised Jackson County didn't end up with a fleet of cars (and a few diaper bags) out of this. Or maybe they did.
