Interesting choice... I might substitute Gram Parsons but I'd certainly be OK with Lowell George. Classical list of my personal top 5: Brahms - just so beautiful Ravel - always loved his piano pieces, wish I had ginormous hands so I could play them Copland - my favorite thing to accompany are his "old American Songs" Haydn - so much fun to play Handel - "Messiah" was a transcendental experience for me when I first heard it live. I still love hearing/singing it. My personal top 5 popular (as of today): Joni Mitchell Nanci Griffith John Stewart Ry Cooder The Fratellis These lists could change completely based on my mood and memory if you were to ask me the same question tomorrow.  | |||
