That was fun. Interesting to see how dated that stuff looks now!

I used to get bike catalogs: Bike Nashbar, Performance Bicycle, etc. Lots of shiny objects. But bike technology changed only slowly, the biggest changes being steel components yielding to aluminum, new frame materials, index shifting, and a few others. But the bicycle is inherently so efficient that the basic function and appearance didn't change that much over time...until, say, the mountain bike came along.
