I can’t remember if I heard about it here, or somewhere else It’s the NYT game where you get 16 words and have to match 4 groups of 4 that go together. I really like it, but it’s not always that easy. I sometimes get to the last group of 4 and have no idea what the category is. They do a good job of creating a list of words that could be in several possible groups, depending on the meaning of the word.

This is my new favorite game. Quicker than Spelling Bee! Which I still play daily. Not playing Wordle as often.

Mr wtg and I have started doing Squaredle (h/t to jon-nyc) and Quordle over breakfast. We really love Squaredle. It reminds us of Boggle, which we used to play all the time.

We added Connections to the mix this morning (thanks, AM jodi !).

We can't afford to add anything else, or we'll be bumping up against lunch time... Big Grin

This thread also made me think of James Burke's series called Connections, which is really really great.

quote:
Connections is a science education television series created, written, and presented by British science historian James Burke. The series was produced and directed by Mick Jackson of the BBC Science and Features Department and first aired in 1978 (UK) and 1979 (US). It took an interdisciplinary approach to the history of science and invention, and demonstrated how various discoveries, scientific achievements, and historical world events were built from one another successively in an interconnected way to bring about particular aspects of modern technology. The series was noted for Burke's crisp and enthusiastic presentation (and dry humour), historical re-enactments, and intricate working models.

Available on the Internet Archive.

He also had a series called The Day the Universe Changed, but I don't see a complete version in the IA, only individual episodes on YouTube.

All are worth checking out if you're into science history.

I've never been a fan of the 'dle' games. They just annoy me, mainly because what they consider words can sometimes be a bit loose.

I'm still old school and at least attempt the NYT crossword puzzle daily. But Connections sounds like it might be fun! I'll give it a try if I can find it.

Got my first perfect Connections today. It takes a couple days to get the hang of it.
