I don’t quite understand why you would sign something that seems like a reasonable opinion to you and then want to cancel when you see who else signed it. But I don’t feel like I understand enough these days.

I suspect fear of retribution dominates ideological niceties. Buyer's remorse in this case does not seem driven by high-minded concerns.
