My iPhone has lightning connector. It fits either way but only charges one way.

Feature or flaw?

Something is broken.
A properly working Lightning port and connector should charge either way.
If you try a different cable and it charges both ways, the cable is bad. Else something on the phone’s Lightning port is broken.
