The heater part of the HVAC was installed improperly, it turns out. So they sent someone today and he fixed it.

High today is 65. I set the thermostat at 68 and auto but it hasn't turned on yet. I'm assuming this is because of the sun at work.

Tonight's low forecast is 52 so it will prove itself soon.

Dew point....I hate to be boring and link to something, but this site has a really good explanation. Talks about what dew point is, and what a comfortable dew point is.

The highest dew point in Chicago was 83 degrees. It was totally miserable.

So how is fall going, Steve? Had enough of pumpkins and apples and hayrides?

Are you going out trick or treating today with your grandson?

And on a related note...I never knew there were products out there to winterize a pressure washer. Ours is electric, so after the first time something broke inside after I left it out in the garage during the winter, I just started bringing it down to the basement.

This is kinda cool...

I still like Fall but after a brief windstorm most of the leaves are on the ground now. I’ve done my winterization chores and am we’re ready for snow.

My Halloween job is to pass out candy to kids at the door without allowing Sam to escape. I’m tempted to give him a Benadryl and close him in a bedroom or something.

All of the power equipment has fresh oil and ethanol-free gas. (Thanks PJ!) I see the article still recommends fuel stabilizer so I’ll add some of that too.

Let the soup making commence!

Quite remarkable. It's November and the alpine strawberries are still blooming and producing fruit. I've managed to harvest a few berries when I got to the plants before the critters did.

We still haven't had a frost; I even have a pot of impatiens still going strong. And these marigolds:

We had gale force winds all weekend. At least the leaves are pretty much gone from all the trees. Huge branch came down from a silver maple, but thankfully didn't damage anything.

And we got spuds in our last CSA box. A variety I hadn't previously seen:

So temps plunge on Friday and we get our frost. Looks like it's time for winter hygge.

Crazy warm here right now. 60’s and 70’s. In November. In NE Ohio.

Not complaining -it’s nice.

There's another hurricane here but it will only be a tropical storm when it circles over my area.

There's no chance of being under an order to leave. I'm going to enjoy the rain.

This is a picture of (part of) a massive mound of flowers in a neighbor’s front yard. They just knocked me out by their gorgeous profusion, hundreds of tiny flowers no more than a half-inch across. I learned they are called frost aster, a native plant. It blooms only in the fall. Birds and bees love it.

I just finished shoveling the driveway for the second morning in a row. It’s still snowing.

It was 75 yesterday and it's in the low 50s today. Frost tonight and temps we'll be lucky if we see 40s next week.

Cold weather brings out my inner squirrel. In-shell nuts and cashew butter. There would have been a can of Spanish peanuts too but they were on closeout for a little over a buck a can and someone beat me to them.... Frowner ROTFLMAO

The nut bowl is a precious pimento that my grandparents bought on some trip to Wisconsin, probably in the 1950s. It gets used once a year.

I'm hoping that sensor is in your freezer but I suspect it's not.

Can I send you a bag of nuts? ThumbsUp
