So depressing and ultimately unfuriating. The notion that scientifically supported climate change got sucked up by the GOP into an anti-Al Gore, anti Democratic meme makes me want to throw up. There are still people who think that climate change isn't "real." Then there's the group that thinks it's all "natural," meaning we can't or shouldn't do anything about it. And of course there's also the "God's will" gang.
All in the name of politics. I despair.

I've been watching video testimonies of Holocaust survivors and the last one observed she'd just realized there were no birds in the ghettos and camps (otherwise, they'd have been eaten, for one thing). Likewise, no vermin.
As reflected upon here, they perished for lack of nourishment.
That said, however, I don't think many chicks being fed plastic (and dying from it) is synonymous with "starving to death" as the headline claims is the primary cause of their deaths.

On a somewhat brighter note... the robins in my neighborhood find themselves the recipients of a bountiful crop of earthworms this year.
It's been raining a lot, so the worms tend to come up to the surface and onto driveways and patios when the soil is soaked.
And if that's not enough, my composter is just chock full of worms working their way through the grass and leaves I chucked in there a few weeks ago. I couldn't figure out why there were a gazillion robins in the bins (they're open on top), until I went to turn the compost pile and saw all the worm activity.
