I totally need a tuning app. I have a tin ear. Nice for me, because it doesn't bug me when the tuning is off. But pure torture for musically inclined audiences. Big Grin

This was the first one that came up, but throw out your suggestions!

I prefer a clip-on tuner to the app.

No particular brand loyalty, but I use one that looks like this.

If you look around, there are cheaper ones that work fine. This was just the first how do you RL I found.

Don't know if that boss one is free or not, but if not, there are a zillion good free ones, so there's no need to pay.

On the other hand, if you want power (not jut a tuner but a spectrum analyzer and extremely powerful programmable metronome all in one app), TE Tuner (or Tonal Energy Tuner or Tonal Energy - it's listed different ways depending on where you download it) is pretty amazing. Not the most user friendly thing, but you can program a 300 measure piece into it with multiple tempo and meter changes and accells or ritardandos over multiple measures etc. Hands down the most powerful metronome app I've ever used. It costs like $2 in the app store. I use it more for the metronome side though - if you only want a tuner, stick with a free simple app or get a snark.

Ok, maybe stupid question, but why would you want a clip on tuner? It clips on the head of the guitar (or uke) neck, right? Then you'd have to twist your head around to read it, no? If I'm thinking about this the right way, something you can set on the table or music stand in front of you is maybe easier to use?

Also, you might as well get one that's specifically for a ukulele, just to make it easier. And, while you're there, try to choose one that has a dual function of being both a tuner and metronome.

Some things I found googling:
https://yousician.com/ukulele-tuner

https://www.mrguitarist.com/be...for-ios-and-android/

BTW I bought Cleartune (it might $2-3) when I was piano shopping to use to see how out of tune the used pianos were, it works great but I don't think it has a metronome and may be overkill for your needs.

Let us know what you end up using!
