CindysphinxWhen to buy Thanksgiving tickets?
We have a wedding in Arizona on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. That means we have to fly the Friday after Thanksgiving, returning the following Monday.
I'm seeing some pretty hefty prices for flights -- like $475.
Does anyone have intel on when we should buy these tickets? Buy now? Wait?

AxtremusAre there other nearby airports that you can check for cheaper airfare?
Don't know how many people in your party will be flying, but if you have 4 people and can shave $100 per person by using a different airport, that's $400 with a fraction that can go to ground transportation to/from that alternative airport.
Good luck and safe travels.

piquéGee $475 seems cheap to me. What do you usually expect to pay?

$350-$375. We can fly out of any of three airports, so usually there's something that works for less.

piquéThen it's the bad timing to blame. Can you travel for a full week to avoid the holiday gouging?
