Toilet paper:

Over the top? Or pull down from the back?

I thought you were going to suggest brands.

We find Costco's Kirkland is really good. Used to like Scott, but it's now one-play and really thin.

Over the top, definitely.

Sometimes when I encounter a roll inserted with the paper down the back; i.e., the wrong way, I go to the trouble of turning it around.

Pull down from the back if you have a cat in the house that likes to pull it out the door and around the house

We like the Kirkland paper, but we had to re-do an entire bathroom so we could have a tp holder that could accomodate the ginormity of the rolls! (The bathroom needed an update anyway, but still…) Final laugh was on us: we have a cat that shreds and chews toilet paper (doesn’t matter which way you hang it), so now paper lives in the cabinet. Or in canisters in the upstairs bathrooms, which don’t have cabinets!

I tried out my son’s Toto bidet when I was catsitting for him. It’s nice, but I feel like you still need TP for a pat dry. I don’t have all day to wait while the little fan blows daintily!

I’m surprised to see these responses. To me feeding the paper over the top always looked untidy - like a loose end.

My guess is that your preference has to do with how your mother did it.

At the end of the day, I'm more concerned whether or not there is some. If it's there I'll find a way to get what I need off the roll.
