One of my fondest memories was when my daughter (age 8-ish) and I surprised my parents with a weekend getaway at the Hotel del Coronado. One of the highlights was having high tea at the hotel, outside on a gorgeous day on their lovely patio. Yes to scones, yes to clotted cream (yum) but holy cow, their fruit was beyond amazing. The best berries I think I have ever had, and supremed citrus. My daughter was fascinated by the teeny "kid-sized" sandwiches.

A great time!

They were great. I went to The Bakester, a little patisserie here in town that's run by the nicest lady. I got a cranberry walnut scone.

I've been having the clotted cream with the black currant preserves on toast for breakfast in the morning.

Yummy on both counts.
