The end of forgetting
For some time, I've been wondering about the impact of being able to capture events on film, and now on digital media, has on our lives in general.

I know a lot of people who treasure photographs and videos and who go back to look at them and reminisce and relive past events. As I've gotten older I find that I have pretty mixed feelings about all those photos and that I rarely go back to them. But I control everything and can decide for myself what to do (or not do) with them.

But as technology has moved on, that control is slipping out of our hands....

I Called Off My Wedding. The Internet Will Never Forget

In 2019, I made a painful decision. But to the algorithms that drive Facebook, Pinterest, and a million other apps, I'm forever getting married.
