I consider this episode to be a disguised blessing, as I now have info about Covid in our community that I did not have. Ordering more masks and will not be in enclosed spaces with unvaccinated people in future. Will not be returning to blythe behavior.

The third NP I saw--who kept me at the clinic for hours, running tests--is pretty sure I got pneumonitis from aspirating bile in my sleep. Symptoms started after waking up from a 10-hour sleep without a pillow. I had been so exhausted from my pack trip the night before that I conked out at 8 pm so quickly,, I never even put a pillow under my head.. woke up with bile burning my throat and a dry cough that never produced anything. I took a z-pack and got a prescription inhaler and codeine cough syrup, and I'm much better now. But I'm told the cough will continue for weeks.

That's what killed my father, BTW. He had a very weakened immune system, so the aspiration generated fatal sepsis.

How awful. I was told to stay alert for fever or other signs of infection. I felt immensely better after the z-pack, so hopefully that's the end of it.
