Wasn’t that first house part of the set for “A Clockwork Orange?”

I can see the owner so clearly in my mind's eye--Phyllis Diller in a white caftan trimmed in gold brocade, sporting a lucite cigarette holder in one hand.

That first house is going to cost a fortune to overhaul. Removing all that mirror is going to make a huge mess.

I kind of like the second house - a nice use of contemporary furniture in a period house. A bit dark for my taste but at least they didn’t go red velvet Victorian.

I’ve rarely found a LeCorneu range in the wild and I’ve never seen a kitchen with two of them. You’re looking at some $50K between them - never mind the hood. I wonder if anyone in the house actually cooks.

I’ll bet getting that big reach-in fridge in to the basement was a memorable experience.

The second house was kind of nice, if a bit ostentatious.

The kitchen alone in the first one would give me a complex, watching myself cook from 20 different angles. Brr.

That white spinet in the kids’ room wasn’t a big enough draw for you?

Hey that second one is here in Portland. Maybe Nina and I should tour it.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I'm narcissistic and so am I.

Yuck.

I don’t hate the second one - it reminds me of an aging but well regarded hotel. I stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs a few years ago and it has the same feel.
