jodi has gone just a teensy bit off the deep end with her miniatures. Big Grin

Started with our square foot show in the gallery - did/doing most of this standing for brief periods of time in the studio. “Mamie’s Room” is set into the back side of a 10” painting panel. It’s about 3/4” deep. I made everything but the wallpaper, the metal frame, the front legs of the table, and the lace on the table (hand made by my friend Toni) craft wood, lots of different glues and paint - things I’ve got laying around in the studio. There are better woods to use for some of this, but I have so much other stuff to use up first! I even made and mitered the crown mounding. (Bamboo skewer glued to a coffee stirer stick, with spackle and paint). String and craft wood and glue and paint for those little frames that my great grandmother Mamie and my grandfather are in. The basket is made/woven from paper and craft wood and fabric and string and lot of mod podge.I took apart string and colored and twisted them into skeins of yarn. I made the needles out of pins and nail polish. I crocheted the little piece of knitting with super tiny crochet hooks. The painting is original, the frame is one of those old metal ones you can find at the thrift stores. The flower vase is some weird old clothing faster with polymer clay wrapped around it. I made the flowers from paper, paint and straight pins.

Then I decided to work on a studio miniature. Reproducing my jars and vials of foraged pigments in miniature using plastic tube and straws and hot glue and the actual pigments. Shelving made from more craft wood. Not done with this one - jars still need to be glued in straight. Yesterday I put together the remaining flowers I made into another vase (made from a button and a drawstring knot cover.

Those are delightful, Jodi. I hope we see more in the future.

INcluding the "wheat" penny really helps set the scale.

jodi, those are very, very cool. I'm always amazed at what people use to create miniatures, and how realistic the miniatures end up looking.
