The Pita Inn (the place I mentioned in my previous post) is a similar rags-to-riches tale. This article is from ten years ago. Prices have gone up but you still get great value for your money. And it's still wildly popular.

Mr wtg originally met Falah at the Skokie location, where he used to stop for takeout on the way home from work. We would run into him at the Wheeling restaurant on a pretty regular basis, as that became our go-to location. He would always greet us effusively ("Hello, my friends!!!") and bring us a dessert and a couple of cups of mint tea, on the house of course.

He's also opened a more upscale restaurant called Zad. We haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it's fabulous.

A visitor at the bird bath this morning. We haven't had rain in weeks, so he must have been desperate for water; I've never seen one in any of my bird baths.
