There's a dog club in NYC where they take their dogs around to hunt and kill rats.

OK. You harbor rats. If they come in my territory it's curtains. I don't like it, but I don't like killing mice either. It's just going to happen.

Now when we moved in we had a snake in the house. I knew it because I would see its shed skin on the sill plate in the basement every year. But we had not a solitary mouse. Eventually my beloved discovered the snake and caused it to leave. I preferred the snake.
