yikes, he does not look well.

in her late 80s, my mom was prone to temporary ischemic attacks (TIAs) and it looked just like this.

A guy I worked with used to have petit mal seizures that were similar to what happens to Mitch. He would just zone out and stare off into space. In a minute or two he would snap out of it and go on as usual.

zoning out and staring off into space would not actually be a new symptom for me.

I had to look up the petit mal seizures. The mayo clinic says it’s more common in children and females. maybe we have a lot more to learn about Mr. McConnell…

I have no problem with older people in power as long as they are mentally capable, and concerned for the future. McConnell and Feinstein seem beyond their use-by dates.

+1.

I watched the most recent video of McConnell, it was quite disconcerting. I hope he has the self-awareness to step down, but I'm not optimistic.

Stating the obvious, the big issue for both Feinstein and McConnell is the hyper-partisan craziness that's taken over Congress. If either steps down they will shift the power, and oh noes, can't have that. So instead we're all subjected to these ghoulish Weekend at Bernie's situations. (And I don't mean Bernie Sanders.)

Common decency and humanity would allow both of them to step down without becoming martyrs.

The Capitol Hill doctor says:

quote:
“There is no evidence that you have a seizure disorder or that you experienced a stroke, TIA or movement disorder such as Parkinson’s disease,” Monahan wrote, using the acronym for a transient ischemic attack, a brief stroke.

The doctor said the assessments entailed several medical evaluations including a brain MRI imaging and “consultations with several neurologists for a comprehensive neurology assessment.” The evaluations come after McConnell fell and suffered a concussion earlier this year.

“There are no changes recommended in treatment protocols as you continue recovery from your March 2023 fall,” the doctor said.
