Anyone with an internet connection can find the facts concerning what is happening in Gaza.

Yes they can, but there appears to be a basic disagreement as to what constitutes a "fact".

From my point of view, a disturbing video that you saw (but didn't even link) from a doctor who volunteered in Gaza, offering that doctor's opinion that children are being targeted by snipers, isn't a fact. It's at best the doctor's opinion, and that's assuming the doctor being truthful. Since I have no idea who that doctor is or what their biases might be, I cannot agree that the doctor's opinion is a fact.

That's a cop out.

I'd like to see you try to refute anything in my thread.

Be my guest.

I just refuted a "fact[] concerning what is happening in Gaza", because it wasn't a fact. Challenge accepted and already completed.

I don't get my news from watching YouTube videos, so I don't watch your video links. I'd be happy to read something from a reputable source.

Well, you can (and have) dismissed links such as this one as, "YouTube videos."

That seems plain dumb to me, but it's your choice.

Some might call that a personal attack.

In any event, I don’t choose to get my news from YouTube.

Life's too short, Quirt. You don't need to look at any evidence contradicting your point of view, and, like I said, that's your choice.

You've switched from discussing facts to discussing evidence. Where evidence is concerned, the question is whether it is probative or not.

Still, I prefer to get my evidence in written form. It's easier to review, to think about, and to evaluate that way.

Feel free to post transcripts.

And yes, I don't need to look at evidence contradicting my point of view. Nevertheless, I do look at such evidence. I don't necessarily put the same weight on certain pieces of evidence as others do, though.

I have always thought that Paul Simon's lyric that "a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest" has a wide range of applicability.

I only made through 16:00 of this interview of a Columbia professor but it proves your point, imo.
