It’s a new variety of tomato that I picked up at the grocery store. The best store bought tomato I’ve ever had and even better than a lot of tomatoes I’ve grown myself over the years! Sweet, ripe and just firm enough.

I'll look for them, but doubt they are here.

Still, the thing that bugged me about living in California was at that time you could not buy a decent tomato in the state that grew the most in the world.

It was still that way when I left. The tomatoes I get here are much better.

Village Farms is an interesting company:

“Village Farms International is a Canadian producer of greenhouse-grown cannabis, produce, and hemp and hemp-based derivatives. The company also operates a 7.0-megawatt power plant. Village Farms International operates more than 10 million square feet of greenhouses based in Delta, British Columbia and Texas. They own the Delta 3 greenhouse in southwest British Columbia, which is the world's largest Cannabis greenhouse.”

Always looking for a better store-bought tomato. Camparis have been my go-to for several years. They're edible.

Which type of store carried these pups? Was it a national chain like Kroger, or something more regional?

I think you mentioned great heirloom tomatoes from Canada a while back. Guess Canadians know what they're doing!

Store was Giant Eagle. I think it’s an Ohio chain.

Tomato package is marked “Product of Mexico”.

I'll watch for those. We do most of our grocery shopping at Giant Eagle, which is a Pittsburgh-based chain.

Sadly I can't find them around here, although Kroger tomatoes have gotten a whole lot better.
