I finally had a chance to watch the PBS documentary about Janis. I had no idea he had all those problems with his hands.

Both were amazing pianists. I remember hearing Pollini's version of the Chopin etudes as a teen and thinking they were perfection - gorgeous sound and an amazing technique.
