Interesting. I've seen the same (or very similar) looking tree in Ireland. But no vineyards there ... Big Grin

It is indeed Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius.

We were traveling between Ischia and Rome on our holiday and decided to take a trip down to Pompeii. As we were walking up to the amphitheater we noticed the vineyard and wandered over to have a closer look. That tree came into view, with Mt Vesuvius in the background. Quite the photo op!

I could just imagine standing at that spot in Ad 79, watching the "show" from the volcano, totally ignorant of what was coming in just a few hours. Smiler Red Face
