Uhhhhmmmmm... not quite the first.

This one flew over two years ago. Granted, it is an electric retrofit of combution-powered airplane, a DHC Beaver.

And this one flew a few months later. Another conversion, this one is a Cessna Caravan.

The same company, MagniX, is supplying the motor for the Alice.

One good thing if they can make it work commercially - jets would not become a fireball on crashing.

Airplanes in flight spend nearly the entire time above the clouds. And they spend half the time flying during the day. So why don’t they cover the top of the fuselage and wings with solar panels?
