This lady is a prof at GWU.

quote:
Jessica A. Krug is a historian of politics, ideas, and cultural practices in Africa and the African Diaspora, with a particular interest in West Central Africa and maroon societies in the early modern period and Black transnational cultural studies.

She’s been identifying as black from the Bronx with Caribbean roots for decades, but is really a Jewish girl from the Midwest.

Ok, not the most important detail here, but

quote:
I am not a culture vulture. I am a culture leech.

Is there something I'm missing here? She sets this comment out on it's own line, infused with profundity.... But it's just sort of, meh? I'm wondering, so is being a leech that much worse than a vulture? Aren't they both equally bad in their own ways??

I confess I sort of stopped reading after that and mostly (barely) skimmed...

I think she has delusions of grandeur, the way she writes, like the wrong that's she committed (and I'm not saying it isn't/wasn't wrong) ... but as if she has this immense power such that her wrong was so wrong it eclipses all other wrongs....

1. Yes, pretending to be Black (a la Rachel Dolezal) is wrong and worth condemning. But,
2. Get over yourself lady. Also,
3. Yawn.

I don't think she means they're bad or worse. I think she means they're different. My guess is she means a vulture is malignant but a leech sucks up and absorbs knowledge. Just a guess and nope, I'm not going to click on it.

Well, apparently we've now seen the best tidbit from that. I-1 told her she should move to North Korea and "take one for the team" after KJU make a pass at her.

I don't think I need to read anything more.

And the visua....

...oh, never mind.

Not Completely Unsympathetic

I wonder if her work is any good. Perhaps it is.

That wasn't exactly how I read their "tone" ... After all the very last comment in the WaPo was
quote:
“It’s really disgusting," she said.

In any case, WaPo doesn't have to go after her, everyone else will.

Wonder how long till she's placed on leave at GWU and eventually fired...
