HairRaising

I've thought since I started taking note of him many years ago that Musk is brilliant and unhinged, which I see as a particularly dangerous combination.

I agree with you re the latter, but I'm not so sure about the former.

I recently read something about his moving Twitter serves (from CA to WA IIRC) and his behavior could only be called mind-blowing stupid....

Whatever the case may be, he's definitely unhinged and it's disturbing how much influence he has.

I find it particularly distressing to think that he's involved in something that aims to provide treatment and mobility to people with brain injuries, an especially vulnerable group.

Like so many advances in technology, it could be of great benefit to some people.

And the potential for abuse is huge.

I’m guessing all of your brain functions become subscription services. And they can download updates to your brain at any time and anywhere.

Neuralink is not the only company working on brain to computer connections. Here's a link to a story about Synchron and their method of making the connection: The Brain Implant That Sidesteps The Competition

With or without Elon, neutral implants as an idea is something that needs to be investigated and developed. The potential for good is enormous. From that perspective, if Elon helps the science march forward, I suppose that‘s a good thing.

Don’t know if I agree, especially since other companies are pursing this work. Elon is such a chaotic mess, it’s as likely as not that he’ll do more harm than good.
