I've thought since I started taking note of him many years ago that Musk is brilliant and unhinged, which I see as a particularly dangerous combination.

I find it particularly distressing to think that he's involved in something that aims to provide treatment and mobility to people with brain injuries, an especially vulnerable group.
The first human patient has received an implant from brain-chip startup Neuralink on Sunday and is recovering well, the company's billionaire founder Elon Musk said.
"Initial results show promising neuron spike detection," Musk said in a post on the social media platform X on Monday.

With or without Elon, neutral implants as an idea is something that needs to be investigated and developed. The potential for good is enormous. From that perspective, if Elon helps the science march forward, I suppose that‘s a good thing.

Don’t know if I agree, especially since other companies are pursing this work. Elon is such a chaotic mess, it’s as likely as not that he’ll do more harm than good.
