Ron, thanks! Nope, I'm not putting a ceiling fan in the piano room. I'm replacing that drop-down fixture with a semi-flush fixture.

The ceiling fan replacements are for a guest room and the primary bedroom.

I’ll check Amazon but I am a little hesitant to buy electric things from Amazon unless it’s a recognizable brand. They pretty much let any seller on there…

I need some kind of fan when practicing in the summer (no AC here). Seeing the box fan I was using, my tuner suggested a smaller personal fan, around 8-10 inches, that sits on the floor and can be directed right at the pianist. Inexpensive too. That’s what I use now.

Wouldn't you know it, I find a fixture I like and it's $1600!

That’s an awful lot of money, but that’s a nice fixture. I really don’t like most light fixtures.

Yeah, there's no scenario in which I would pay that much for a light fixture.

The lampsplus site comments from customers make two observations about it, though. It's heavy. And the glass on the bottom can fall out.

Also check the color of the glass. The yellow toned one, like that expensive one, can really reduce the brightness of the light. That may be what you want, but a whiter glass will be brighter.
