If he wins, and I hope he does, then the most aggressively disreputable parts of the media will be on notice that the "public figure" defense isn't as all-encompassing as they might have thought. This might actually lead to an economic downturn in the schlock-jock style segment of the media that has infected so much of our public discourse.
